Looking for a bit more security & discretion with your purchases?
Enabling Discreet Merchants on your Account Settings page masks merchant information from appearing on your bank statements.
This changes the merchant name on your bank statements to one of the above pre-determined names.
Without Discreet Merchants enabled: Privacy.com [merchant name]
But with Discreet Merchants enabled: Privacy.com H&H Hardware
Can I remove Privacy.com from the descriptor entirely?
Unfortunately, no. Federal law requires all transactions made using Privacy Virtual Cards to list Privacy.com or PWP* for identification.
Can Discreet Merchants be applied to an already authorized transaction?
No, Discreet Merchants cannot be applied retroactively. Once a transaction has been authorized, Privacy is unable to alter the descriptor that will appear on your bank statement.
Can Discreet Merchants be applied to only one Privacy Virtual Card or transaction?
At this time, we don’t have the ability to only apply Discreet Merchants to one Privacy Virtual Card or transaction.
When enabled, Discreet Merchants will apply to all transactions on a Privacy Account. However, this feature can be enabled or disabled at any time on your Account Settings page. So, you can enable Discreet Merchants right before making a transaction and then disable it once it’s been authorized.
NOTE: This feature is only available to Privacy Pro users. Click here to find out more!
