Every Privacy transaction moves through three stages from the time you checkout with a merchant to when the transaction is over. The three stages are represented in your transaction on your web dashboard or mobile app.
- Pending
- When your authorize a purchase with a Privacy card it appears on your account as “pending” with the amount of the charge. This means that you have given the merchant permission to charge your card an agreed upon amount.
- Usually this process happens within minutes but some merchants may not confirm the charge until goods are shipped.
- If the merchant cancels your order while it is in a pending state, it will fall off your Privacy account as incomplete and no funds will be debited from your funding source.
- Please contact the merchant directly to enquire about the status of your order.
- Settling
- When a transaction moves to “Settling,” the merchant has charged your Privacy card.
- The amount a merchant charges you might be different than the amount that was authorized, if your order changes or if there was a tip added to the transaction.
- Settled
- The funds have been debited from your funding source and the transaction is complete.
