If a charge was declined by Privacy due to spending limits, card/account state, or other reasons, you will see the decline listed on your Privacy dashboard with a brief explanation of the decline reason.
Viewing declined transactions
- To view your declined transactions, first click "Transactions" from your web dashboard.
- Then select "Declines".
- If the card was declined by the merchant and not sent to Privacy for authorization, the charge will not appear on your Privacy “Declines” list. Usually this means the merchant does not accept prepaid debit cards, and Privacy cannot be used there.
We recommend having notifications enabled for both “Transactions and Declines” so you’re notified whenever your Privacy cards are used. Using the mobile app, you can also enable push notifications to your phone.
Enable notifications on your account to also receive an email explaining why the charge was declined. You can manage these notifications on your account page.
